I am a result driven, all-round, hands-on technician with a strong passion for industrial applications, focused on delivering the best solution for stakeholders. I am a strong teamplayer with a broad interest, which is why in the course of my career I have always pursued to be involved in all steps of industrial product development and improvement projects: research, benchmarking, project proposals, concept development, prototype/pilot design & testing, the development of safeguarding, control and operational philosophies and procedures, instrumentation selection, design optimization, material selection, securing compliance with safety- and environmental legislation, implementing new products in the organization, all the way down to executing and evaluating performance tests after commissioning of new products/installations. This experience helps me to keep overview in complex projects, allowing me to evaluate and understand the implications of decisions made in different project/engineering stages while the project is ongoing. My experience is applicable to all aspects of research, development and engineering projects in the field of energy, combustion, heat transfer, thermal & mechanical design and process technology. I have detailed experience in the field of industrial combustion, more specifically sulphur recovery units, fired heaters and thermal oxidizers. I have done extensive (experimental) work on ammonia combustion systems. When I am not working, I love spending time with my family, windsurfing, long distance running and reading.
