About Hester Darcy

My personal purpose is to make the world better. Professionally, I want people to enjoy themselves while they do great work. As an Organization Development practitioner, I work to ensure employees and leaders are trained, supported and motivated, which ensures organizations are successful, effective and hopefully, more fun. I have been fortunate to get work in the United States, Kenya and Trinidad. I have supported a large-scale organizational culture change effort in an electric utility company, which included coaching leaders one-on-one, creating leadership development programs, strategic planning, and diversity and inclusion efforts. I have worked extensively with non-profits, from the inside as a staff member at the American Heart Association; as a board member, and as a consultant supporting an arts therapy organization with their strategic planning efforts. I built and managed a successful knowledge management system and corporate training program that increased employee expertise and customer satisfaction, and became a template for other business units. My clients have come away from our work together with stronger strategic plans, increased capacity to scale their efforts, and a deeper understanding of change management theories. I frequently volunteer, some of my favorite causes are the Washington Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity. I have served as a board member for a non-profit, and thoroughly enjoyed my 2019 volunteer vacation with Re-Member on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
