About Hester Krohn

For someone who is only 37, I have done so many things! Theatre was my first love. When I got out of high school, I went to Texas A&M University-Commerce and majored in Technical Theatre. After 2 years, I had to leave the school due to an accident that lead to people leaving the program. I transferred to the University of Central Oklahoma to finished my Bachelor’s degree in December 2010. While attending, I got some professional experience working the local IATSE Union loading in and out major concerts such as Elton John, The Lion King, WWF, Dave Mathew’s Band, and so on. I completed my internship at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma and started to work for the local amusement park running their stunt and magic show. After getting out of college, I became Production Manager at a non-profit theatre called Sooner Theatre and was let go after budget cuts 9 months later. I then worked for Celebrity Cruise Lines for their audio video team. I set up entertainment in the lounges during the day and moved to the theatre running the light board or spot light in the evening. I have been to Alaska, Central America, and Asia to name a few. After working 2 tours, I got a position as Master Electrician at Eisemann Center for a short period. As an artist, I grew up around artists so it was only natural that I would be an artists too. As soon as I could hold a pencil, I was drawing and entered my first art competition at 4 and placed! I was so young that they wrote an small article about me in the local paper. I excel at 2-D but when I got to college, I noticed that I had a skill for 3-D. My first pots where beautifully decorated and skillfully constructed. I eventually moved to sculptures and have made industrial sculptures with LED lighting, stone carvings, and ceramics. I got my 2nd Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University-Pueblo specializing in sculpture and graduated in May 2019 Summa Cum Laude. After that, I was already working on perfecting my skills with the clarinet. I decided to get my Master’s in Education:Music. I have learned how to teach most of the instruments but love the clarinet family the most. I participated in Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Clarinet Choir, and Concert Choir. I have done conduction, arranging, composing, and performed my own recital specializing in bass clarinet. Professionally, I have performed with the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra. I currently have music students that I tutor in guitar. Currently, I’m student teaching at Florence High School for the Spring 2022 semester in art. I will be endorsed in art, theatre, and music.
