Short bio: After half a degree in economics and a completed law degree, I started my own business in financial advice on insurance, pensions and mortgages as an independent consultant in the early 1990s. After learning about customers and customer behaviour, I became intrigued by the world of larger companies. In the mid-1990s, I went to work for ABN AMRO where I had the privilege of learning in marketing, strategy and commerce. After a short period as commercial director within Agis Group, a health insurer, I started working for ING. At ING, I have held roles within various business units as Retail Sales Manager, Head of Sales Development, Programme Director, Insurance Director, Mortgage Director and Head of Mortgages & SME Advice. From 2019, I am Head of Retail Advice in the Netherlands and thus responsible for all Retail Advice teams in daily banking, mortgages, direct and intermediary distribution, investments, the branche network and service points as well as the support and staff departments. In this position, I connect and optimise digital and personal customer interaction to maximise the customer experience.
