About Hilary Short

I am a Design Strategist and Consultant at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), where I apply my design skills and knowledge to enhance the user experience and outcomes of e-learning projects. I have a Master of Design (MDes) in Graphic Design and a Master of Arts (MA) in Design and Art Criticism, which equip me with the theoretical and practical foundations of design thinking and communication. With over two years of experience in the e-learning domain, I have successfully integrated a human-centered design approach to three e-learning projects that aim to promote diversity education and collaboration. I have collaborated closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to establish a shared vision, strategy, and goals, and implemented a user-friendly, intuitive interface based on user and usability testing. I have also advised and creative problem-solved with the aim to make effective improvements with limited funds. My passion is to use design as a tool to empower learners and educators, and to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
