About Hilbert Andrei

My name is Hilbert Andrei, I’m a College graduate from University of „Alexandru Ioan Cuza”, Faculty of Geography and Geology. During my time at University, I studied different aspects of Tourism and Regional Development, finishing my Master Degree in Tourism. I would describe myself as a travel enthusiast, always curious about different cultures, always hungry for new adventures. So far, I travelled in more than 30 countries and visited over 50 cities around the world. When I was given the oportunity to travel to the United States, back in 2017, through a Work and Travel programme designed for students, I knew then and there that I needed to grab the chance and make the most of it. So, six months later I landed in Chicago with a suitcase filled with excitement and desire to live my „American Dream”. I worked in the hospitality industry, in the „U.S capital of Aqua Parks”, Wisconsin Dells, a well known holiday destination for people all around the globe. My job was to make sure that all the customers were happy and satisfied with the services and that we performed at the highest standards. It was a demanding position, as people tend to be hard to please when it comes to their holiday and their hard earned money, however there was no complaint or task I couldn’t handle. I learned that the most important part in a customer facing position is to carefully listen and to empathise with them. Remembering my experience working there makes me believe that I could handle any situation and any difficult customer, therefore I would be a suitable candidate for the advertised job. After graduating from College I spent 1 year in the United Kingdom, working for Amazon UK. During my time there I was trained in Problem Solving and eventually became a trainer myself. This job taught me how to be a team player and how to deal with deadlines or difficult tasks.
