About Hilda Ramirez

Hi! My name is Hilda, a Biobehavioral Health student at Penn State University. After working in various industries, I have seen the perspective of the front of the lines during COVID-19. My focus is in women's health, as well as diversity and inclusion in medicine. Being a doctor to me is being a servant and leader in the community. I am a student leader in the menstrual equity club that supports my campus as well as beyond my campus. In addition, I serve as a resident assistant to support on campus communities here at Penn State. I am a problem solver and thinker, and work really well with others. As a sub-chair for AED, I was required to collaborate with the executive team as well as delegate with the members of my own team. My job was to create a presentation for them to bring issues to disparities in medicine. Health, equity, and community are really key parts of medicine. As a woman of color, I have seen some of the disparities in our lives firsthand. I hope to be a doctor that can collaborate with my patients and care team to find solutions within our health care system that work for our patient.
