About Hilde Ritter

With the completion of a B.Ed (Natural Science) degree for the FET (age 16- 18) phase, specializing in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, from the University of Pretoria by the end of 2016, it is aimed to acquire a permanent position at any respected High School if granted the opportunity. I am a diligent and hardworking young adult with a strong interest in Mathematics and Science. I have a great passion for Physics and Chemistry and want to transfer my knowledge to learners using a learner-centred method. By using analogies, experiments, and visual representations, I want scholars to learn to acquire working memory, and they will thus have the skill to apply all knowledge to multiple diverse situations. I want to allow learners to discover mathematical and scientific concepts independently and make sense of the content given. I want to be a teacher, a role model and a facilitator allowing learners to grow and expand their knowledge in Mathematics and Science by making it a subject where they can construct their ideas and expertise. I believe in neuroplasticity, which focuses on training the brain to make relevant links to concepts. In my class, the goal is to teach the students Science by encouraging critical thinking, application skills and gaining working memory by understanding the concepts in real life instead of memorizing. I am self-motivated and driven to perform and grow in knowledge and experience. I am straight and to the point and driven to solve problems logically. I am a quick learner and can quickly adapt and manage myself in new environments. My character is to be honest, and precise regarding work and take the lead in projects as needed. I tend to delve into work whilst maintaining a balanced lifestyle is essential to me.
