About Hiroki Ichikawa

I explore and propose new business ideas for Japanese companies across various industries. Although my company is a fairly large software subcontracting firm in Japan with a sizable engineering workforce, this initiative is loosely connected to our core development business, but operates independently. The ideas I present are mostly self-initiated — concepts I personally believe have value or potential. I proactively bring these proposals to companies I think may benefit from them. Recently, I’ve also started receiving more direct inquiries and requests from clients, which has been an encouraging shift. I alternate between Tokyo and Silicon Valley about every six weeks. While in Silicon Valley, I spend time observing local business culture and exploring ideas that could inform future opportunities. Even when not directly tied to a business proposal, if I come across a startup solution that seems readily applicable, I sometimes help introduce it to relevant clients in Japan.
