About Hocksiang Eng

I have been in the marine civil construction field for 12 years and counting. What I love and appreciate very much throughout my entire career is the fact that I get to experience first hand marine piling works for a full 10 years out of the last 12 years. I find great satisfactions for many times when I speak about subjects relating marine piling works such as pile length determination, selecting suitable driving energy of hydraulic hammer for different kinds of pile capacities required. etc to other project stakeholders including representatives from the design engineers and main contractors of the projects. I also have great interests and in-depth understanding on marine construction vessels such as piling crane barges, crane barges, anchor handling boats, tug boats and have personally involved in constructing some of the such vessels to improve productivity of works by introducing up-to-date technologies to the marine vessels. Working with a small sized specialist company has also enables me to gain a wholesome experience especially in managing the operation side of the business such as its manpower recruitment and staff trainings, managing the company workforces ensure productivity is maximized, equipment and materials procurement to maximize cost savings while ensuring practicality and sustainability, project cost estimation and tendering, as well as networking with all the small and large size multinational contractors for their respective projects local and abroad. Moving forward I am looking to take up roles on the top most management level for small and medium sized companies where I get to manage and oversee multi aspects of the business and move the company up to another level in becoming more competitive and able to produce sustainable organic growth maximizing profit, and beating the competitors in the field. Put me to challenge and reward me accordingly for results achieved will drive me immensely.
