About Hoda Hagrass

I’m carrying MD, MS and PhD from Zagazig University Egypt in Clinical pathology and Clinical Chemistry/OHIO State University. I’m working as a Clinical pathologist and medical director of clinical chemistry and immunology at University of Arkansas for medical sciences and Arkansas children hospital. I do have a good Research back ground also with more than 10 peer Reviewed publications, Focusing mainly on Molecular Genetics and clinical research.I was responsible for quality in the team earned the accreditation according to ISO 15189 but now I worked In CAP accredited laboratory. I was a Research Fellow at Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center from 2006 through 2009. My Research Focus was WWox methylation in breast Cancer. After returning back to Egypt i was studying the epigenetic changes and MiRNA roles in diseases and oncogenesis especially in breast cancer. During my residency in Egypt, my research fellowship and as an attending at UAMS, I had the opportunity to build a strong scientific background as well as communication, and teamwork skills. I have been trained in many molecular techniques such as: Western Blot, Immuno-precipitaton, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, preparation of recombinant adenoviruses and plasmids, plasmid transfection, RFLP and PCR. My major focus is performing medical research that leads to significant scientific breakthroughs in the diagnosis and prevention of disease through conducting research on both basic and clinical science aiming at patients’ benefit. I do believe that innovative research projects will be conducted through teamwork and by the help of governmental and private funding I’m also interested in biomedical informatics, I’m doing my master degree in this promising field.
