Background
About Hollind van Eijl
My passion is building and racing cars. I am a highly motivated self-starter who does not hesitate to take initiative in the absence of prior training or knowledge. I have personally bought and sold over 40 vehicles, while using funds from these sales to build a competitive racing program. During this time, I developed multiple marketing platforms, with the goal of producing significant ROI for sponsors. Sponsors provide products or services which support my racing program in exchange for advertisement on these various marketing platforms. Through building my racing program and pro-spec race car, I developed skills in metal fabrication, electrical engineering, and project management, which led to the unique opportunity of working with Marvanile Manufacturing. Marvanile is a startup company holding multiple patents on fully autonomous ice resurfacing machines. Typical hockey rink ice resurfacing machines require an operator, Marvanile's goal was to produce a prototype capable of completing the job autonomously. We set out to prove concept on a prototype which would revolutionize the industry. Beginning as an engineering contractor for Marvanile Manufacturing, I played a significant role in assembly, research, and design. I was brought onto the project near the end of the fourth prototype. I assisted with testing and development for the transition to sottu6 gen5. For gen5 I worked alongside electrical engineers on sight, creating and documenting wiring diagrams from schematics provided by joint efforts of our team and Boston Engineering. During this time, I was trained in Creo Parametric 3.0 3d modeling, as well as 3 axis CNC operation. I later progressed into a lead fabrication role for gen6. Acting as project manager, I took responsibility for building, fabricating, and assembling gen 6. This encompassed everything from; building individual components based on 3d CAD drawings, welding, CNC operation, wiring, ordering parts, outsourcing production of specialty parts, assembling the machine, and managing the entirety of the project. Ultimately our goal of achieving proof of concept on gen 6 was achieved. Working on this startup project was an incredible opportunity, which led to gaining a wide range of knowledge and skills over the course of my time with Marvanile.
