About Holly Branson

Hi, I'm Holly - Chief Purpose and Vision Officer at Virgin, co-founder of Big Change, chair of Virgin Unite, first-time author, and mum of three. From a young age, I dreamed of becoming a doctor. Upon finishing school, I spent six years at the University College London studying medicine, before graduating in 2007 and working at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as a junior doctor. In 2008, I made the decision to join the Virgin Group - much to my dad's excitement. I spent a year interning across the different companies, getting to know how each worked, and eventually found my place at Virgin Management. I'm now the Chief Purpose and Vision Officer, and my focus is to help people flourish, and embed 'purpose' at the heart of every Virgin company. This involves working with Virgin companies all around the world to spearhead innovative people projects - such as our Virgin Purpose initiative and Virgin Management's Unlimited Annual Leave Policy. I'm also Chair of Virgin Unite (the brilliant Virgin Group foundation) and a passionate advocate for transforming education and improving the lives of young people. I'm also Chair of We Day UK and a Patron of Virgin Money Giving - two philanthropic efforts very close to my heart. In 2018, I published my very first book, WEconomy, with my two co-authors and friends, Marc and Craig Kielburger. The book is all about how to find purpose in your business and your life so you can make a profit without compromising people and planet. I've also inherited Dad's keen sense of adventure! From attempting to break the record for the fastest ever crossing of the Atlantic in a 99ft monohull sailboat; climbing Mont Blanc to launch Big Change; tackling several Virgin Strive Challenges and completing the London Marathon with my friends and I tied together as a human caterpillar convoy. Caterpillars aside, my favourite adventure and my most important role is raising my three children (Etta, Artie and Lola) with my husband, Freddie.
