About Holly Brown

Being an instructional designer means being a lifelong learner. I take the knowledge of a Subject Matter Expert and translate it into a form that is engaging, informative, and inspiring for learners. I use adult learning principles, such as Bloom's Taxonomy, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, and the ADDIE model to create effective learning experiences that inspire real behavior change. I strongly believe in creating inclusive, diverse, and accessible learning experiences. As a people leader, I use empathy and transparent communication to create a supportive team environment. I enjoy helping other instructional designers grow in their careers, including the application of adult learning principles, technical skills, interpersonal communication, and giving and receiving feedback. I use data to make strategic decisions and project management software to keep my team organized and focused on business goals. As a person, I am a team player with a focus on harmony and finding solutions. My background in improv comedy allows me to be flexible and use humor to diffuse uncomfortable situations. My background as a teacher allows me to be patient and empathetic in challenging situations.
