About Holly Cooper

I grew up playing soccer locally in Portland and won numerous state championships for FC Portland and Tigard High School. I was the Oregon Player of the Year in 1992 and 1993. I played on United States Women's U20 and U21 teams, as well as the U18 Region IV team. I was awarded a scholarship to the University of Portland where I started all four years and earned All-American and All-Conference honors. After college I played professionally abroad ultimately trying out and making the Irish Women's National Team while overseas. I also played in the first women's professional league in the US when the WUSA was formed in 2001. I've coached competitive girls teams from Southside Soccer Club, Portland City United (PCU), and now in my current position at Northwest Elite FC ECNL and Pre-ECNL. I've also coached within the ODP program and have my USSF B license. I love working with young, competitive players and facilitating their growth to reach the highest level. My passion is to create healthy, competitive training environments that foster a love for the game and encourage risk-taking. I believe that continued growth both individually and as a team, are paramount to development. My players are accountable to work through weaknesses in their game and their role as a teammate and leader, to reach their potential.
