About Holly Hunter

I am an innovative, enthusiastic, and motivated 21st century teacher with a vision to continue to grow and develop my teaching practice. I have a commitment and passion for Education, encouraging and enabling children to develop the confidence and skills to become enthusiastic learners for life. Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment is fundamental to my practice, allowing students to feel valued and safe. I have a positive approach to life which reflects strongly in my teaching. ExperienceI graduated from the University of Waikato in 2013 with an honours degree in Education. Following this, I have worked with a range of year groups which has developed my teaching practice and knowledge. I spent 1 year at Insoll Avenue School teaching Year 1 and 2 students. The following year while I completed my honours dregree, I worked as a tutor for Kip McGrath. This involved tutoring students from 4 years old to 16 years old. While working at Kip McGrath, I setup a preschool programme to prepare children for starting school. Once completing this I moved to Auckland and started teaching at Remuera Intermediate School, teaching Year 8 students. I have been at this school for the past 5 years.
