About Holly McLane

In 2016, I was among 25 participants selected from over 200 applicants to participate in the Children's Advocacy Bootcamp offered through Children's Hospital Colorado. This program allowed me to identify community resources and support for children, understand how to use them, build confidence in communicating with elected officials and community leaders on behalf of children, and develop public speaking skills and strategies. The Bootcamp was designed for individuals who wanted to learn about the importance of the media and how to leverage it to make positive societal improvements, understand the legislative process, and navigate the State Capitol. With this increased knowledge, the program allowed me to find my voice, use my voice, believe I can effect change, and understand how to improve my community for children. In March 2017, I began working as a learning specialist for 8th-grade math and language arts for the Douglas County School District. I was accepted into the ABA Therapist program, which leads to a BCBA, through the University of Colorado at Denver in March 2018. I started the program with the July 2018 Cohort. In August 2020, I changed jobs from a learning specialist working with mild/moderate disabilities to a Significant Support Needs Lead Teacher Position while completing 1500 hours of supervision under Board-Certified Behavior Analysts. In 2021, I took a lead role as an Autism lead teacher at the elementary level and found my true passion. After relocating to Charleston, SC, in July of 2024, I lead a new autism program at the middle school level.
