It wasn’t a lack of talent. It was something quieter — job descriptions that didn’t tell the whole story. Students wondering if they have to be engineers to belong in aerospace. So I started small and launched the Women’s Space Awards. We were 6 weeks old and had a few hundred followers so I figured we’d get maybe 20 nominations. Instead, votes came in from 35 countries with nearly 200 nominees — everyday heroes building, coding, mentoring, solving, and showing up to move the aerospace industry forward. That’s how the Women’s Aerospace Network began. In less than a year, WAN grew to be the largest women’s aerospace organization in the U.S, and proudly has members spanning a multitude of disciplines and industries. We’ve partnered with global companies to help fill talent pipelines, amplify their impact, and connect with the people who are shaping where aerospace is headed. Alongside WAN, I serve at NASA Headquarters, supporting portfolios totaling over $360M and leading cross-agency initiatives. I’ve helped Fortune 500 teams cut inefficiencies by 70% and increase performance by over 80% — but this work? Building networks that move people and industries forward? It’s the most meaningful.
