About Holly Speirs

Experienced and reflective primary educator with 8+ years in diverse classroom settings. I prioritise student agency, explicit instruction, and evidence-based practice—drawing on frameworks like the Berry Street Education Model to support wellbeing and engagement. Especially passionate about empowering Grade 5/6 learners and preparing them for a confident transition to secondary school. I have a strong interest in numeracy, with a focus on building deep conceptual understanding and real-world problem-solving skills. I’m currently seeking new opportunities and am open to roles beyond the classroom. I’m particularly interested in joining the rail industry, where I can bring my strong communication skills, critical thinking, and calm, organised approach to a dynamic and safety-focused environment. I am reliable, thrive in team settings, and am comfortable working shifts, including early starts and night work. I learn systems and procedures quickly, stay composed under pressure, and am committed to contributing to smooth, efficient operations—whether that’s in a classroom or a live rail yard.
