About Holly Taylor

I plan to live a life devoted to writing and reading. I hope to live a life that is guided by learning and listening, as well as understanding, prioritizing, and amplifying diverse perspectives both in the classroom and in the professional setting. My goal as an educator is to emphasize the necessity of perspective-shifting to facilitate true learning. I‘ve developed my teaching pedagogy through different mentorships: by instructing undergraduate students in fiction and writing courses; by building supportive relationships with teenagers through skills coaching and therapy groups; by instructing college students who are incarcerated and free in writing, computer literacy, poetry/drama, and survey of the Humanities; and, most recently, by teaching college students virtually in an entirely online platform. I have had the opportunity to advocate for young adults and empowered them to process life's events by writing down stories. I have found writing as essential to my existence. I see storytelling in any form as an essential thread that connects all of humanity. In addition to teaching, I write short stories and poetry and am finishing the second half of a novel.
