About Hope Ledding

I earned my masters degree in counseling psychology and have practiced humanistic psychotherapy across six different community mental health settings for the past five years. I am currently looking for a part-time position working with children, families, and/or couples. I am open to joining a private practice or continuing to work community-based. I have clinical experience with children and teens, young adults, families, elder adults, and groups. I currently work part-time at California State University, Northridge in their counseling center for students, providing short-term treatment. In terms of my orientation as a therapist, I am strongly rooted in culturally-sensitive humanistic therapy, and I also rely on attachment theory, somatic awareness, family systems theory, and polyvagal theory. In all of my clinical positions, I have worked mostly with individuals and families with marginalized identities including clients of color, LGBTQ clients, low-income clients, clients affected by immigration issues, and clients with disabilities. Cultural humility and social justice are driving forces in my work and life. In terms of my personal qualities, I bring honesty, genuineness, self-awareness, enthusiasm, dedication, humor, and warmth to my relationships with clients and colleagues.
