Background
About Horst Thieme
With over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, I have developed a strong expertise in cloud, data center, software, management, automation, and storage solutions. I have led sales teams, managed strategic accounts, and built partnerships with clients across various sectors and regions. Now, I am applying my IT skills and knowledge to the field of urban development, as Head of the Smart City department at the City of Augsburg. I am passionate about using data and technology to create more livable, sustainable, and inclusive cities for everyone. I work with stakeholders from the city administration, the private sector, and the civil society to design and implement smart city initiatives and projects. I also host and MC for conferences, events, award ceremonies, and culture and poetry events, where I enjoy connecting with people and sharing ideas.
