About Houssame Achouri

I have been an Indirect tax advisor for more than 17 years. During that time, I have had the opportunity to work on numerous international Indirect tax engagements for a wide variety of businesses in different industries. My work includes provision of global Indirect tax consulting and compliance advice, pre- and post-M&A work, VAT recovery services, supply chain restructuring, tax and finance restructuring, SSCs setup, business cases building and evaluation, and management and coordination of multinational Indirect tax projects. In 2017, I moved to Dubai from Belgium further to the VAT implementation in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries where I was responsible for sales activation of domestic VAT compliance in Saudi Arabia and UAE. I regularly present at seminars and conferences on international VAT matters, and I have created various tools and methodologies to standardize and improve the VAT compliance function globally. I have spent few years in building and developing our EMEIA tax compliance center, and now I’m focusing on the future of the tax function and related outsourcing models, and to transform our people into the digital era.
