My career and skills are notable for their breadth and depth. I have broad experience across the spectrum of health care from the individual rescue side of Emergency Medicine to the population, prevention side of Public Health. I have had increasing responsibility with in California State Government for program and policy development, management and leadership. During my State tenure, I led or participated in large scale disaster preparedness and response. My work in clinical settings has spanned public urban hospitals, suburban community settings, rural resort, and international environments. Areas of significant experience and expertise include: Emergency Medicine, Disaster Medicine, Public Health, Emergency Medical Services, Wilderness Medicine, Travel Medicine and International Health, and Communicable Disease Control. With my retirement from state service, I plan to explore other opportunities to work in health policy and programs or disaster response through a foundation, international relief group, or public health organization.
