I have thirty plus years of experience in the automotive industry concentrated in sheet metal stamping and assemblies of interior, seating, and ABS parts. This experience includes seventeen years of stamping die design coupled with CNC programming and bench hand/floor experience. Six years of estimating experience at the tier two level. Experience includes quoting tools internally to set supplier targets. Sending/receiving and evaluating external quotes from both domestic and LCC tool shops. Suggesting the best tool shop for the project based on core competency, capacity, and price. Eight years’ experience of cost modeling at a tier one seating supplier. Experience includes estimating piece price and tooling for seat assemblies. Evaluating required capacity, labor, and investment for each project. Advising the sales team on cost and setting price targets for the purchasing team. Evaluation of current supply base as well as new supplier development to support competitive tooling and part cost based on suppliers’ core competency. Working with engineering teams for design to cost part evaluations for best process and cost. Suggesting design changes to the engineering team for part formability and manufacturing process. Driven with attention to detail and the ability to breakdown complex assemblies with multiple manufacturing processes. Experience in working and communicating with cross functional teams having different ethnic and language backgrounds. Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
