About Howard Satterthwaite

I am qualified as a professional Senior Practitioner Coach & Mentor with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and am an ILM recognised Wellbeing Coach. I have 18 years of experience in the Charity and Church sector. I served as Lead Pastor and Trustee/Director of the historic church Westminster Chapel (‘WestC’) for seven years (£650k annual turnover). My analytical and communication skills were honed as a criminal barrister, and my management and leadership skills developed through a PgDip in Voluntary Sector Management at the Centre for Charity Effectiveness of a leading business school. At WestC, I helped establish leadership teams, designed and led training for prospective leaders, steered WestC through a major building project, including opening a highly respected café, and navigated the significant challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Elders/Trustees/Directors of WestC have described me as “a strong strategic thinker, widely read and a gifted communicator, both orally and in writing.” I am a published author and have spoken at large and small gatherings in East Africa, Korea, and the UK, including National Conferences, Carol Services, and sizeable charity staff team retreats. I have produced content for TBN UK and have been interviewed for J John's Facing the Canon show and UCB Radio. I am currently taking a career break to write a book about discouragement and hope, focus on coaching, study an online MBA, learn counselling skills, and move our family home.
