About Howard Spinner

Howard Spinner, Ph.D, Ed.S, M.S, B.S. Education Specialist Dr. Howard Spinner brings a vast amount of experience to American Heritage Schools. He began his career with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Miami as an exceptional student education teacher working with students who had specific learning disabilities. In his classroom, he created a center approach where his students were able to use their learning strengths to master academic concepts while he used researched-based techniques to remediate learning weaknesses. In order to satisfy his desire for professional growth, Dr. Spinner enrolled at Nova University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He completed his coursework and was awarded an Educational Specialist degree in mathematics with certification in gifted student education, administration and supervision. While he was teaching gifted students, he was inspired to write academic programs and grants. Adding to his several degrees and certifications, Dr. Spinner earned his Ph.D. in mathematics and learning environments. He presented his thesis at the Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), New Orleans. His study was also published in the International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education. Being certified to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Dr. Spinner has helped students prepare for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). TOEFL is required by most institutions of higher learning when an applicant's first language is other than English. Also, he has coached students who were preparing for the SAT Reasoning Test (SAT I) and the SAT Subject Tests (SAT II). Twice Dr. Spinner was voted Miami-Dade County Teacher of the Year.
