About Hub Brown

I'm committed to advancing journalism and mass communications education, research, and service, and to making sure that we are facing the challenges before us and providing true leadership. My three decades of academic experience, more than a decade of it in academic leadership, are supplemented by nearly 15 years of professional broadcast journalism experience, in commercial and public television. I have taught courses in writing, producing, and presenting for television and radio news, as well as courses in ethics and diversity and inclusion. As Dean of the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida, I work with an amazing team to make sure that our students are day-one ready to make a difference in all the professional enterprises they enter, to advance our leadership in research, and to make sure we are providing leadership and support to the professions and communities that we serve.
