About Hugh McElvain

Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, but moved and lived in several States and Italy because my Dad was a civil engineer. Joined the Marines in 1977 and retired after 20 years in 1997. My Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was Avionics and Calibration and Repair of Test Equipment (PMEL or TMDE). I was also a very successful recruiter in the Marines in Pensacola from 1986-90. I was also a Instructor and Instructor Supervisor at Lowry Technical Training Center, Lowry AFB, Denver, CO. from 1990-94. I taught basic electronics and calibration of test equipment. The day after retirement I got a job as Project Manager at Wireless One, Inc. A year after that I was ask to be a contract instructor with San Diego City College at NATTC NAS Pensacola, FL, teaching electronics to Avionics Sailors, Marines, and Allied Forces personnel from 1998 to 2002. I then went to work with civil service at a Type II Calibration Lab at the Marine Maintenance Center, MCB, Albany, GA, and work there from 2003 to 2007. I then went into early retirement but decided to go back to work at MSI Viking Gage, Inc, Duncan, SC in 2018, but then Lockheed Martin Space offered me a job at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi as a Technician Calibration Sr. I started working there in September 2019 and work there presently.
