Background

About Hugh Moran

As a graduate of GMIT Galway with a BSc in Construction Management (level 7) an ordinary level degree, I went on to complete my higher degree in Edinburgh Napier with a BSc in Construction and Project management (level 8). During this time, there was a downturn in the construction industry with the recession making work in the sector hard to come by. As a result, I have worked in various other jobs over the past few years learning more about myself and about working with others. Each job had its own responsibilities that went along with it. For the past three years, I have been working in the Dunnes Stores Deli department. As one of the more senior members of staff in the department I have a lot of responsibilities in training and guiding new members of staff in the various different tasks that must be undertaken on a daily basis. From a younger age and all through college I have always had a great interest in computers and technology. When the opportunity arose to return to college and study in this field, it was an opportunity that I could not pass up. Currently, I am back in GMIT as a postgrad student studying for a Higher Diploma in Science in Computing (level 8). In the future, I hope to have a happy and fulfilling career in this industry doing something I truly love and have a passion for.
