Background

About Hugo Anselmo

I'm a biologist, graduated from the Universidade de Aveiro, with a master's degree in Ecology and Environment, from the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto. During my master's degree, I did an 11-month internship at the NGO REGUA (in Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil), where I develop my master's thesis "Ecologia comportamental e conservação de Puma concolor na Mata Atlântica do Brasil". During this stage, I was invited by REGUA to work as an environmental educator, performing functions such (1.) organization and promotion of events;(2.) creation of educational activities (several of them included in a guide of environmental education activities under development);(3.) dinamization of guided tours and lectures to schools and other groups. Working as an environmental educator allowed me to improve the skills I had already developed through previous experiences, such as scouting activities. Since I was a child, I have been part of the scouting movement, within which I was mainly assigned the role of guide (team leader). All of this experiences converge in this strong skills of mine: creativity, autonomy, adaptive flexibility, communication capacity and proactivity in evaluating different ideas and solving problems.
