About Hugo Cisneros

With 35 years of experience on the electronic industry and more that 22 years as a mechanical design engineer, I have contributed with improvements on tooling, product design, design guidelines and process through DFA analysis and educating customers on mechanical design too, so they can have reliable products on the market. I also have contributed with cost impact by validating current products process and eliminating bad practices from different OEMS, identifying possible risk on the assembly process and providing solutions to reduce scrap, wip and improving yield. Now I've dedicated my activities on coaching DFA engineers for getting the skills and criteria to make improvements on the product, tooling and process to assembly reliable products. I've visited many OEMs in many places in the globe that I've learned that most of the OEMs has a lot of issues and bad practices on their assembly process, their designs and tools that does not comply with some design guidelines for manufacture and there by all this is reflected on the assembly process and with the final user. I've also saw that most of their specs or 2D drawings has a lot of errors in terms of GD & T and this has lead to receive low quality parts from vendors and this could affect assembly process and automation as well.
