Biomedicine undergraduate at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), Brazil (1997- 2001)- Scientific Initiation trainee at the Instituto Evandro Chagas/SVS/MS, Brazil, working with detection methodologies for human astroviruses (ELISA, indirect immunofluorescence, RT-PCR, electron microscopy and cell PhD in Sciences, at the Department of Microbiology, University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, working with research in viral gastroenteritis in children caused by astrovirus. The work included mostly detection and genotyping techniques (RT-PCR, nucleotide sequencing and cell culture)(2002-2007)- Visiting Scientist at the Food Animal Health Research Program (FAHRP)/ Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) at The Ohio State University (OSU), Wooster, Ohio, USA. The work involved the study of systemic and local immune responses caused by rotavirus infection, using gnobiotic pigs as animal models (2007-2009)- Post-Doctorate at IOC/Fiocruz, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, developing research with unusual human rotaviruses strains and doing activities related to teaching (2009-2013)- Researcher in Public Health at Instituto Evandro Chagas/SVS/MS, Belém, Brazil, developing research with enteric viruses (norovirus, astrovirus etc.), Environmental Virology and doing activities related to teaching (2013-Present)- Head of the Virology Section of the Instituto Evandro Chagas/SVS/MS (December 2019 - August 2020).
