About Huib Sutherland

With a background in Industrial Engineering and Management, I’ve built my career at the intersection of operations, leadership, and execution. My journey started at the Papagayo Beach Group in Curaçao, where I quickly grew from Project Manager to Manager of Papagayo Beach Plaza, overseeing 21 commercial properties across retail and hospitality. Those three years shaped my foundation in project management and cultural adaptability. Back in Amsterdam, I joined Royal De Vries Shipbuilding (FEADSHIP) as Coordinator Engineering. Home of some of the world’s finest custom-built superyachts. There, I refined my skills in planning, coordination, and stakeholder management across complex engineering projects. Today, as Manager Operations at FORTNA LPS International, I focus on building high-performing teams and driving operational excellence. I lead a talented group of technical and support teams. Aligning people, processes, and performance to deliver best results. I’m passionate about leadership, operational development, and creating environments where teams can thrive and deliver at their best.
