About Humera Karim

I am a communications professional with over a decade of experience in both print and electronic media. I have served as a Communication Officer at the Pakistan Red Crescent. Currently, I bring over 5 years of dedicated service to the UNHCR as an External Relations Associate. I apply my learnings, experiences, and skills to serve people and address issues that I believe deserve attention and support. With a profound understanding of the struggles faced by those who have lost their homes, been forced to flee their communities, regions, or countries, I feel a deep sense of empathy towards them. I take pleasure in crafting stories, capturing moments through photography, going into the field for firsthand experiences, compiling reports, collaborating closely with colleagues, and organizing events. Additionally, I excel in preparing PI items and introducing innovative ideas that best serve the interests of the people we serve. I am an avid reader with a passion for exploring diverse subjects. I also enjoy expressing my creativity through painting as well as travelling. I constantly seek to deepen my understanding of humanity and universe. Although, I love all this, but it also weighs heavily on my mind to witness how humans inflict troubles upon one another. My deepest aspiration is for a world free from war, where mutual respect and appreciation for the diversity of all individuals prevail.
