About Hung Dao

I have over 17 years of experience working in social services. Graduated from Sacramento City College with an AA in Sociology. Graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Social Work. Graduated with a Master's degree in Masters of Social Work. Currently attending the University of Pacific and will graduate with a Doctorate in Health Sciences in December 2025. My research focus is using evidence-based practices, Trauma-Informed Care, and Substance Abuse education to promote career aspirations for change in the community through policy change and advocacy. My key skills include effectively interacting using active and reflective listening with colleagues and clients in a timely manner. Incorporating compassion and empathy to create lifestyles for individuals personalized by supporting their client-centered goals to elicit change talk to participate in everyday living in the community. Documentation of concise and clear clinical notes in a timely manner. Well-developed interpersonal skills including cultural sensitivity, conflict resolution, patience, and flexibility to communicate with people in the community. Responsible for the development and building of a team. Can work independently and within a team. Provided mentorship and supervision to foster growth in client care. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all staff and managers. Flexible and have the ability to organize and prioritize personal and team work. Advocate and being a representative for clients. My academic achievements include being graduating with Honors and Summa Cum Laude, participating in a Refugee Interprofessional Community Engagement (RICE) program working collaboratively with a a nursing and law student, and local refugee resettlement agencies helping the needs of underrepresented groups of refugees, primarily Ukrainians, Afghans, and others from Middle Eastern nations.
