About Hunter Beattie

Hi! My name is Hunter Beattie, and my first word was book. My only memory of my childhood bedroom is the walls: shelves pressed close, heavy with dusty hardcover novels and brightly colored children’s picture books. My parents would read to me every night before bed, until I began interrupting them to read the stories myself. It was clear from a young age that I had a bold personality and a knack for storytelling. Today, that same passion has shaped my professional path. I am completing my final year as a public relations major at the University of Florida, where I’ve learned to adapt my writing for a dynamic range of audiences. As I look to the future, I welcome opportunities that challenge me to grow as a professional. Public relations is multifaceted, spanning many industries, and my goal is to develop a versatile skill set through varied cross-industry experiences. My background in communications and digital media began at BAK Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, where I took classes like video production, investigative reporting, creative writing and graphic design. When it came time to choose a high school, I knew I wanted to further my arts education at A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts studying digital media. These years were formative for me as an artist, building my confidence as a creative problem-solver. The critiques were rigorous; however, I believe their direct nature helped prepare me for the realities of a demanding professional environment. My experience in the workforce has shown me that the creative process is an ongoing one. As a print writer for Rowdy Magazine, I collaborated with editors to flesh out each piece until it was cohesive and free of errors, all while consistently meeting hard deadlines. As a summer marketing intern for Money Concepts International, I took on additional responsibility and initiative. I successfully designed and executed a city-wide interactive experience for over 500 financial advisors as a part of the company’s annual Financial Planning Congress. The activity was created with community-building in mind, aligning with Money Concepts’ mission as a business. Following the success of this project, I was offered a more permanent role in the marketing sector, where I am currently working while still in school.
