About Hunter Blish

Originally from Encinitas, CA, I moved to Austin, TX when I was four. My parents didn't attend college, so they had to develop a strong work ethic to succeed through hard work and perseverance. They both can adapt to different situations effectively, demonstrating strength in the face of adversity. These qualities were passed on to my sister and myself. Showing that we can accomplish anything we put our minds to. When I graduated from high school, I had no plan or idea of what I wanted to do with my life. I was working at Jersey Mike's at the time and had worked my way up to General Manager. I developed a competitive mindset and pushed myself to be the very best example. After my 4 years at the company, I realized that the position I was in had no more room for growth. So I decided that I would leave and be able to expose myself to a variety of new opportunities. Ironically, a week after leaving the job, I went on a trip to the Grand Canyon, where I met a group of guys who loved seeking adventure. They convinced me to take a trip around the world with them for 2 months, and I thought I'd be crazy to say no. We traveled to Turkey, Greece, Italy, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan. Spending 2 months outside of the country and being immersed in different cultures broadened my horizons and helped me realize how much more there is to life. When I came back to the States, I was seeking anything that would give me more job experience. I wanted to find an opportunity that would start to prepare me for the business world, and I thought sales & marketing was the way to go. Before starting, I lacked experience in many key areas, such as networking, public speaking, and being able to step completely outside my comfort zone when talking to people. The most important lesson that I've learned is that you always need to be working towards a goal and truly understand why you are working for it. My goal is to pursue my passion for music and be able to perform in a philharmonic orchestra. Then, become a lesson teacher to be able to teach the younger generation how to master the art of performing.
