I’ve been in IT for over 25 years, mostly as a solo sysadmin or part of a very small team designing, maintaining, and fixing the systems that keep businesses running. From data centers to remote support; multi-site operations to seasonal rollouts, I handle it all: infrastructure, user support, vendor management, and more. I tackle problems with enthusiasm and appropriate urgency. If it plugs in, passes traffic, or stores data, I support it. My work spans multiple offices and shifting workloads, with heavy seasonal swings that demand agility, foresight, and calm under pressure. I'm a generalist and proud of it. I believe there’s power in understanding how everything fits together, and that "I don't know" isn't a dead end; it's the start of a plan. My attitude is "Don't panic. Asses, then act." Whether it's a server down at 3 a.m. on payroll day, or a company-wide ransomware attack, or a stakeholder having trouble getting their phone set up just right; I diagnose, prioritize, and steer toward resolution. I believe that calm, clear, and concise communication both at the technical and lay levels is necessary in my field.
