About Hunter Lu
Hi, I'm Hunter, a New York-based journalist, editor, and fiction writer. Most of my workdays are spent editing and fact-checking various food and beverage topics as a features editor at Tasting Table. I'm also a freelancer with publications in Foreign Policy Magazine, Atlas Obscura, The War Horse, and The Manual. As a fiction writer, my short stories have appeared in The Line Literary Review and The Bangalore Review. In 2022, I was awarded the 11th Hour Food and Farming Journalism Fellowship through the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Before the writer's life, I worked an assortment of jobs ranging from podcasting to sustainable agriculture, spending a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer on an urban farm in Seattle. Previously, I also served in Iraq, conducting military intelligence operations for the U.S. Army. Currently, I am working through my first novel manuscript.
