About Hunter Noel

I began my undergraduate education at the Colorado School of Mines in 2016. In 2018, I elected to change my educational path, moving from mechanical engineering to biological sciences and healthcare. I transferred to the University of Northern Colorado and graduated with honors in December 2021. During this time I participated in research, presented my findings at conferences, and was vice-president of the university Biology club. Afterwards, I sought clinical experience in order to prepare myself for applications to medical school. I attended Aims Community College and earned my EMT certification. Then, I decided to work for University of Colorado Health at my local hospital in Greeley. Currently, I work as a technician in a neurology clinic. I am responsible for gathering information from the patients for the doctor I work under, as well as preparing equipment for procedures such as botox injections or nerve conduction studies. Although my current role is quite different from that commonly experienced by an EMT working on an ambulance or in an emergency department, I still find my experience gained in the clinic incredibly valuable, since I plan on becoming a physician or physician assistant in the future. Working directly with neurologists grants me a perspective that I couldn’t get elsewhere as an EMT, considering I work directly with healthcare providers - allowing me to observe their thought process and methods in their day-to-day work.
