Gained valuable site and office experience, i.e. learnt to do various levelling exercises, setting out and surveying exercises as well as acting as Supervising Engineer for works leased out to sub contractors, i.e. the Rotherham Footbridge. • Independently set out various important works: overflow car park, new roads, access and exit roads, positions of piles and bases for a footbridge, a retaining wall to name a few and structural design. • Responsible for supervising co-workers and jobs on site by organising and co-ordinating work and ensuring allocated tasks to employees were completed effectively and efficiently in office. • Responsible for monitoring surcharge and zone load tests through regular levelling Exercises with site Engineer • Organised and arranged for closure of roads to ensure the safe transportation to site and installation of the deck of the footbridge. This involved having relevant signs made and setup on necessary roads as well as implementing a safe diversion route. • Researched into most suitable piling company for footbridge and a car park barrier system for the overflow car park. • Negotiated with various companies to find the most effective deals. • Arranged often site visits for companies and supervised the work through, from planning work.
