About Hyink Deborah

I am an Informatics Associate specializing in healthcare metadata management, data quality, and compliance. At Baylor College of Medicine, I manage the administration of the Enterprise Data Catalog, perform metadata scanning and enrichment, and apply data profiling and data quality rules to improve the discoverability and reliability of source data. I have developed Python-based tools to detect hidden PHI in DICOM metadata and imaging files, supporting secure generation of de-identified image sets for research and clinical use. My work combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of healthcare privacy standards, enhancing compliance with HIPAA and institutional data governance policies. Prior to my informatics role, I managed a multi-site NIH-funded research program for over a decade, coordinating projects across seven institutions. This included successful submission of two competitive NIH grant renewals (>$9M each), budget development, regulatory assurance collection, and research reporting. I also promoted collaboration among scientists through biweekly research meetings and annual retreats. I am seeking opportunities where I can apply my skills at the intersection of healthcare data governance, metadata-driven compliance, and de-identified data management.
