About Iain Davis

For the past 19 years, I have taught KS3, IGCSE and A-Level English and Literature to learners in countries around the world. For the past 7 years, I have also worked for Cambridge Assessment International Education as- a qualified and accredited Face to Face (and online) Teacher Trainer - a Teaching and Learning Consultant - an Examiner for 0500 Paper 1 and 9093 Paper 2 For the past 5 years, I have also Examined with IB for the HL DP English A: Literature Paper 2 and Written Task. I began my teaching career in Leicester in 2002. After two years of teaching in an inner city school, I moved to teach abroad. I taught for three years in Botswana at one of the country’s lead International schools, Maru a Pula School. I then moved on to work in Dubai for five years at another International school. There, I was Second in Charge of the English Department. Eager to further my travels East, I moved to Malaysia. There I met my wife, Esther Soon (a Mandarin teacher and Subject Leader), started our family and bought a house! The country is now my home. I began my time in Malaysia as Head of English and Literature at an International school for five years. Becoming tired of school politics, my wife and I decided to have a year off work to have our first baby. During that year, we travelled around the region and I worked for Cambridge Assessment International Education as an Examiner, Teacher Trainer and Consultant; developing a range of teaching and learning materials that can now be found on the Cambridge support hub, and in the 0500 and 0475 Resource Plus packs. For the last four years, we have taught at a British International School, King Henry College here in Malaysia, where I am Head of the English Faculty.
