About Iain MacLelland

I love working in policing; the variety, the challenge, the team working, the problem solving and that irrepressible no matter what ‘can do’ attitude to get the job done. If you have worked with me you will have experienced the passion I have for leadership and outstanding levels of service. Alongside a team of amazing people, we are currently developing and introducing integrated hardware and software which supports and importantly meets the needs of staff across the organisation. The technology is cutting edge. It not only supports our staff perform at their best but is revolutionising and improving how we deliver services. Currently living in the north of Scotland, I have been privileged to travel and experience policing across the UK to learn from and share good practice in a range of operational roles. After 30 years in policing, I have never stopped learning. I am passionate about public service, in particular public engagement on how we deliver policing, ensuring the technology we develop is understood and meets the expectations of the communities we serve. Experience has shown well planned engagement will answer many of the design questions when preparing for the implementation of new technology. I enjoy meeting new people and to share experience. Get in touch if you want to talk about technology in policing, what does and does not work or if you are interested in cycling, my other passion.
