About Iaja Rogers

Everyday I work to foster the co-creation of better social worlds through positive communication. I am passionate about people and how stories lived can impact the world around us. I have been a part of the workforce since I was 16 years old and experienced many different roles that have helped shape my growth over the years. I also yearn to learn and my time as a student, GA, and instructor are important roles that I cherish. I found myself graduating with a MA in Applied Communication and ended up working at a television production company. I was not sure how my skills from years of working and school would apply to a field I had never considered before. However, my interest in learning pushed me to soak up as much information as I could. Before I knew it, there was a new passion in my life. Working as a producer for PBS, has opened my eyes to the creativity and artistry that I never knew I had. Being able to apply my communication focuses of interpersonal relationships and organizational communication helped me to better understand the importance that collaboration played in my role. This influence was important in my new found passion for television and film. I was also able to use the resources around me to engage with local community members through multiple projects. These include courses created for Arkansas teacher's on both technical and social issues that also cover education standards. I've also produced projects through every stage of production; from concept creation and scriptwriting to directing and final touches on an edit. I now have the know-how to try new things in order to build my skillset even more. I am currently doing this through freelance graphic design and content writing! Overall, these experiences have allowed me to create a vast number of skills. No matter what field I work in, communication, collaboration, community, and learning are what drive me to continue reaching for the stars. No matter my next path, I hope to make a difference, even if it helps just one person.
