Background
About Ian Bailey
I'm a young man with a keen interest in technology, and objective truth. I've worked for both Lowes and General Motors during my time in the workforce, spending two years at each company in a variety of roles. During my time at Lowes, I started off as a part-time Outside Lawn and Garden waterer. It was my responsibility to come in before sunrise and water the plants. I filled that position for two to three months, earning a contract extension on the position from my management due to my performance. At the end of my position as Waterer, management invited me to join the team fully. I was offered a position as an Outside Lawn and Garden Customer Service Associate. My responsibilities in this role included helping customers, be it with how many blocks they may need for a patio or loading product into their vehicles, keeping the cart corral clear, checking customer receipts, and occasionally helping customers check out at the store exit. It was during this time I earned my Forklift License, allowing me to operate the vehicle, though the license rarely went to use, as Forklift responsibilities were primarily handled by veteran OSLG employees. I later transitioned into a Cashier role at the front of the store, however this position quickly became a hybrid of responsibilities. Cart pile-up was a constant concern at the front of the store, and thus my responsibilities soon shifted toward ensuring that the outside of the store was orderly. I would frequently hop between the two responsibilities as needed: If the cashiers had a large pile-up of customers, I would be called in to open a lane and help with checkouts. If our supply of shopping carts was running low, it was my responsibility to head out and wrangle them in. Atop this, I was expected to learn as much about products in the store as possible, serving as a 'floating' customer service agent, whom could recommend products or direct customers to different areas of the store which had the items they were looking for. My final position I held at Lowes was a Receiver/Unloader, my responsibilities being neatly defined into unloading product from trucks that would arrive in the Receiving area of the store. After my time at Lowes concluded, I began work at General Motors as an Assembler. Given I'm running low on space: I shall use what space I have efficiently. My role as an Assembler was much simpler than my time at Lowes, as well as better paid. I was to learn a position on the assembly line and conduct the step-by-step actions as quickly and efficiently as possible. I worked three positions in total.
