About Ian Barnard

I grew up in Kendallville, Indiana, where my parents owned a veterinary clinic. Much of my childhood was spent at the vet clinic or showing Reining horses. That led to my Animal Science Degree from Purdue University in 2011 thinking I'd follow in my dad's footsteps. After shadowing a family friend that was an oral surgeon, I changed my mind and ended up pursuing a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Indiana University, graduating in 2015. Following graduation, I moved to Dayton, Ohio where I did a 12-month Hospital General Practice Residency at Miami Valley Hospital where I worked with medically compromised patients and earned my certification in IV Sedation. Following my residency, my wife, Angela and I moved to South Carolina, where I practiced Implantology and IV sedation dentistry for six years before moving back to Indiana to be closer to family. Beyond my dental career, I'm an avid traveler and hiker. I'm always up for an outdoor adventure. Some of my proudest moments, aside from marrying my wife include thru-hiking the entire Appalachian Trail in 2022 (2200 miles from Georgia to Maine) and winning the American Quarter Horse Youth Association Reining World Championship as a teenager. Professionally, I prioritize continuous growth and providing top-tier patient care. I've dedicated over hours to seminars and continuing education across the nation to keep me up to date with the latest technology and best practices. I am a Fellow in both the International Congress of Oral Implantology and the Misch/Resnik Implant Institute. Recently, I completed a yearlong 300-hour surgical MaxiCourse through the American Academy of Implant Dentistry in Augusta, GA, and attained Associate Fellow status. I've also studied at renowned institutions like the Kois Academy in Seattle, WA, and the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL. My journey has taken me from Indiana to Ohio, to South Carolina, and back to Indiana, about an hour and a half from where I grew up in a little town called Rochester. I get to live on a lake surrounded by cornfields, practicing quality dentistry (lots of surgery, implants and third molars) with an amazing team!
