About Ian Cessna

Growing up in a town called Normal, Illinois, I have used my educational, professional, and creative steps forward to unlearn conformity. I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with two degrees, one in Film and the other in JAMS (Journalism, Advertising, and Media Studies), and an additional certificate in Digital Arts & Culture. Over the course of my undergrad, I spent 6 months studying in London and traveled Europe, made films about robot boyfriends and Tom Hanks, worked on promotional materials for organizations across campus, and sang with the Rolling Stones (yes THE). Creative media and storytelling has always been an active part of my life, from making short films with my neighbors growing up to giving campus tours for three years. Using my voice and uplifting the voices of those around me keeps me breaking free of formula and finding innovative solutions in any scenario. Especially in today's hyper-connected and hyper-technological world, we are constantly finding new ways to connect with audiences and consumers. Coming from a background of both film and advertising, I've been able to find the sweet spot between the two. With my experiences on set and in offices, I am incredibly excited to bring something new to the table and always push the edge of what is happening in media. Despite the hometown name, I'm trying to be un-normal.
