About Ian Cook

I have been in many fields throughout my life. I have been a mechanic for Dodge, I have been a Paramedic that worked with the Fire Department and in the local ER. Although these jobs taught me how to deal with extreme stress and how to calmly and effectively obtain our goals, it wasn’t what made me fully happy. I have always been into the music and entertainment industry since the late 90’s. I have built stages all over the country, been on multiple tours and run lighting for many smaller event. Also have run Front Of House lighting console at the UCF arena people. So this is what my calling is. I am experienced in stage management, I have been the Production Manager and Lead Lighting/Audio tech for a large live concert venue for 4 years. Before this, I was a lighting tech for a local company and have been on many, many tours as a stage hand. I am versed in “Avolites” console, “Grandma1 and 2” consoles, I have worked in Vectorworks to do 3D modeling prior to stage deployment and pre-programming DMX for lighting control. I also have been on a 36 city tour where I did the logistical planning and staffing deployments, so I do have a decent amount of time management and personnel allocation skills. I have been a freelance Tech since although I have had other jobs, I have always been a Tech on the side.
